Application of Quintic Displacement Function in Static Analysis of Deep Beams on Elastic Foundation

Beams supported by elastic foundations are one of the complex soil-structure interaction problems that have been studied using "beam on foundation" concept. To support loads, structural foundation and soil continuum must work together. The development more accurate model simpler procedure critical for safety cost-effective construction such type structure. Three nodded beams based Timoshenko beam theory workable approaches analysis Winkler attempted in this study. For present formulation, a Matlab code has developed. results then compared to similar studies done other researchers, which demonstrate high level agreement. Parametric followed determine response various loading conditions, boundary parameters. formulations, regardless slenderness ratio modulus sub-grade reaction, higher convergence rate. It functions smoothly efficiently thin moderately thick beams. influence coefficient is typically greater than physical material properties.
